Sonoma County Genealogy Society
The Sonoma County Genealogy Society supports the study of family history by collecting, organizing, and sharing resources that document the people who have lived in Sonoma County and the surrounding region. Through publications, indexes, educational programs, and research assistance, the Society helps genealogists at all levels pursue accurate and meaningful research.
A core part of this work is making genealogical information easier to locate and use. The Society maintains indexes to its own publications, including The Sonoma Searcher, which contain transcriptions, abstracts, and original research drawn from local records, newspapers, cemeteries, and archival sources. These tools help researchers identify relevant names, places, and events before consulting original documents.
